Dear Sir,

 

Rider clause 60 of the applicable Charterparty entitles the owners at the master’s discretion to steam the vessel at intervals of 14 days lying idle at anchor and as storage for a period of 8 to 12 hours to prevent or minimize marine growth attachment to the ship’s under-water parts.

 

Is it necessary to exercise such an option considering that the Charterers through their agents have asked for the ship’s position today, probably, for the custom clearance purposes?
