We have the following comments : - with the pictures that were supplied for 5S COT the tank is well cleaned to expected standards at 70C wash. Going forward, all COT's are to be inspected, upon gas freeing and the status of the tanks determined and mapped by taking snaps. As confirmed all machines have been working with the 03 machines that were non-ops made operational by substitution /swinging from other tanks at the time of tank cleaning. - the estimation of total sludge at 20 cbm may be reconfirmed progressively as the tanks are inspected. - Accordingly, please continue the gas freeing operations and inspection of tanks. When inspecting the tanks, a thorough inspection of shadow areas (as reflected in the COW plan of the vessel) of the COW machines may be carefully assessed and pictures taken of the same. - the vessel will not wash the tanks with Caustic Soda, as it is our understanding that it will require more cleaning at high temperatures to remove all traces of its deposits. The process going forward is: - IW + 4W COT's are to be rewashed, while the 2W+3W+6W COT's gas freeing are proceeded with. - After the tanks are confirmed to be cleaned to the standard of 5S COT, upon gas freeing and visual inspection, de-mucking by shore gang will be carried out. Concomitant to de-mucking the tank bottoms are to be mopped by the shore gang with Naptha (or diesel) as possible. - Upon completion Slop (S) is to be transferred to Slp (P) and rewashed. Slp (P) is to be driven to clean the cargo lines at 65-70C. - Slops (P) [all slops] are to be discharged to barge with Slop (P) being concurrently washed by fresh sea water during the discharge to the barge through tank cleaning heater. - FW from the APK tank is to be transferred to the SLOP (P) tank and heated. All COT's are to be FW washed (full cycle) for two hours. - Upon completion FW rinse of COT's, Slop(P) is to be dosed with de-greaser and cargo lines washed for a minimum of 4 hrs by re-circulation. - Upon cargo lines cleaning Slops are to be discharged to the second Slop barge. Please provide notices to completion of the above activities well in time for ensuring coordination with shore service providers seamlessly. Please confirm understanding and compliance. -- Best regards, Capt. Gautam Bhalla DPA/Marine Superintendent Sea Art Ship Management Pvt.
